(More customer reviews)I was excited to try this diaper bag, as I thought the strap was clever. Upon using it for various purposes for several months, I'm just not that impressed. Yes, the strap seems to be a good idea. But it's a slippery fabric, and when you put your arm up to grab something, it slips up onto your shoulder, thus negating its effectiveness. The strap when it's bunched up is pretty uncomfortable. I also don't like the way this bag is balanced. It's cut to sit on your side (obviously), but the way it's weighted makes it unstable. I feel like it's always flopping all over the place when I grab it to put it on. And that weight imbalance makes it difficult to just grab it and throw it over your shoulder (without passing it over your head), if you just want to walk a short distance. It becomes tedious in that situation. The last thing I don't like about this bag is the zipper. It's so deep on the sides that unless you have it unzipped ALL the way (difficult to do with a wiggling toddler), it's hard to get your items out unless they're either small or right on top.
I upped the rating a bit, because there are a couple of things I like about this bag. It's a very nice, sturdy material, and the changing pad it comes with is also nice and sturdy. It's a large bag that can hold a lot, and the outer pocket can hold a surprising amount and is great to just throw things in (like tissues, dropped toys, keys, etc.) when you're in a hurry. I also really like the water caddy space on the sides - it can hold a water bottle easily (or other items) and is very deep.
