"My best friend gave me the BeBe Au Lait nursing cover after my son was born and I had already started breastfeeding him. I had such a hard time getting him to latch in the beginning and he was very squirmy. Before I had this cover, I would use a receiving blanket tucked into my bra straps. My son would wiggle and pull down the blanket and I was mortified that I was going to show myself to the world when he did this. With the Bebe Au Lait, it straps around your neck so that it won't fall down in front but you can still peek through the opening that the plastic boning provides to view latching and see how well your baby is eating. The fabric is also much wider than I expected, so when the baby kicks or bats an arm, it doesn't totally expose you either. I love this thing!!! I am a PROUD breastfeeder but didn't want to expose myself and this gave me the confidence to get out of the car and fitting rooms I had been hiding in before. Never with anything else would I have had the nerve to nurse my son in public, let alone even sitting at the table in a busy restaurant (which I did, more than once) with such CONFIDENCE!

Makes a great cover for pumping too! When I returned to work, I ended up pumping in a storage closet without a lock on the door. (Yay.) I brought my Bebe Au Lait with me and used it to cover in case anyone walked in, which actually happened once. It was great to have something to cover me and to be able to see how much milk I was pumping but that I could still look down and make sure I was attaching/removing the flanges properly. I also used the cover a few times over the infant car seat for sun shade or protection from the rain. I happen to have two of these now because I found one at a consignment store. One of them is a very light colored fabric mostly white background with light grey and light blue (can't remember the fabric name), the other has a slightly darker more dense pattern (called Kimono). Neither of them are see-through at all. Washes well, and I do put it in the dryer on a light setting and use a warm iron occasionally.

I nursed my son for 10 1/2 months total, and I don't think I would have gone for so long had I not had this awesome cover! Now I am expecting baby # 2 and I am so happy that I have my Bebe Au Lait from the start! This thing will be ESPECIALLY nice to have in the hospital when friends, family, and nurses pop in without any announcement!"

I put this product on baby registry because the ability to see my baby while nursing seemed very attractive. This was one of the most expensive privacy blankets on the market. I am disappointed that it is not very easy to use, especially with a baby who does not latch on too well and is fussy. If your baby goes to the breast easily, this may not be a problem, but so far, I have been unable to use it.

"I love this carrier. It costs far less than some others and it really does the job well. I put my baby in it to go outside. I water my rose bushes, etc. It's good for inside as well. I can fold clothes and do other jobs while she's in her Snugli. My baby is 11 pounds now and the Snugli is set in the smaller position. It adjusts a size up to accommodate a bigger baby. I have been using the Snugli for a month now with my baby facing me. She is 2 1/2 months old now. It supports her head well as she is facing in. When she is a little older, I will put her in it facing out. This review is for the Snugli Hug. Snugli makes other carriers but this is the only one I have used so far."

I purchased this items as a baby shower gift for my grand daughter who will be born in a few month. It's a little early to tell how it will work for the baby, but both mom and dad were thrilled with it. They said it is very easy to put on and adjusts to a Soldier's broad chest. "My husband and I tried several cheaper carriers with our baby. Not only did he hate them (screamed the minute he was put into any of them), but they were very uncomfortable and painful to wear with baby in front position. Since our son was too young to be in back-pack style it was important to us to find a front carrier that he could accept and which didn't kill our shoulders and back.

We saw someone else with a child in this Evenflo Snugli carrier while on an outing at the zoo. It looked awesome, the dad wearing it looked extremely comfortably as did baby. We asked him about it and he said it was one of the best buys he and his wife made and that the baby in it was baby number two- he had used it for 3 years with his oldest child. This was testimony to the fact that the product is not only good but durable and lasts. We went home and ordered it right away. Our baby LOVES it! He can be in the front next to our chest and face either in or out. When he is bigger he can be in it back-pack style. It is the only carrier that he tolerates and, best of all, it gives you excellent back support so your shoulders aren't doing all the work and getting damaged. Awesome product! Don't hesitate with the price, it's worth every penny. We even used it on a 2 hour uphill hike and amazingly there was no back or shoulder pain afterwards."

We received this carrier and a Baby Bjorn carrier for our baby. I much prefer the Snugli! With the Baby Bjorn, my shoulders hurt after a few minutes of walking. I can wear the Snugli carrier for hours and it doesn't bother me. I think that it is because of the waist strap. It seems to distribute the load more evenly. We go hiking and walking in this. I am not a big person, and it fits perfectly. It also fits my husband who is much bigger and taller than I am. The latches are very sturdy on ours, but I do always check them before we go anywhere. I think that should be done with all carriers. To sum up, if you are choosing between this carrier and a Baby Bjorn, I would go with this one. It is less expensive (the Baby Bjorn is very pricey), more comfortable, and it holds a higher weight.

"I've used this carrier for the past 5 months and absolutely love it! I live in a large city and run my errands for 4-5 hrs at a time (walking and public transportation). My 10 month old goes everywhere with me. Here are couple of pointers:
- Practice makes perfect - it might take a half a dozen trials before you find the right strap adjustment (you will know when your little one is too low). Start with the back/shoulder straps super short and lengthen until comfortable point reached.
- Make sure your waist strap is comfortable (not too tight or lose). You should be able to fit a flat palm in between.
- As they grow- shift your little one to a preferred side while sitting - that way they sit up and "straddle" one of your legs. Great when he or she is too small for a high chair in a restaurant and you did not bring a stroller.
- Smile :) you look cool.

I am an avid babywearer who has worn my daughter from when she was a five and a half pound preemie until the present age two. I have used slings, wraps, pouches, mei-tais, an Ergo, and I tried a Baby Bjorn for a few hours. This product is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen! Who would want to carry their poor baby dangling at their hip?!

Babywearing is supposed to be functional, yes, but it is also supposed to be intimate, cuddly, warm, nurturing and comforting for the baby. Especially in the first three months, the baby should be snuggled right up close with his or her arms and legs tucked in. Part of wearing your baby is also giving him the same visual reference as you - he is up there eye-to-eye with the rest of the world and can learn and interact. You want the baby's face to be as close to yours as possible, not stuck somewhere with his face in your navel.

If the baby's bottom is below the wearer's waist, the baby is not being worn correctly and the wearer's back and shoulders will soon tire. This goes for any type of carrier.

The Euro-Baby looks like the most ridiculous carrier I have ever seen. The only benefit I can see is ease of nursing, as the baby's face is right down there at the right level, but you don't want your baby positioned for nursing ALL the time.

The easiest and most versatile carriers, contrary to what the manufacturers of Baby Bjorn and Euro-baby type carriers want you to believe, are the simplest - no fancy straps, buckles, foam inserts, headrests, etc. A basic sling, or better yet, a pouch-style carrier (as from KangarooKorner.com - my favourite) has little to adjust or fuss with, and will easily transition with the same baby from birth through toddlerhood, which the "fancier" carriers will not do. (I have included a product link to a pouch style carrier that Amazon offers as well - although I have not used the Maya pouch so I cannot give an informed opionion, yet it looks great.)Maya Wrap Adjustable Pouch-BLUES W/PURPLE STRIPES
