"I've used this carrier for the past 5 months and absolutely love it! I live in a large city and run my errands for 4-5 hrs at a time (walking and public transportation). My 10 month old goes everywhere with me. Here are couple of pointers:- Practice makes perfect - it might take a half a dozen trials before you find the right strap adjustment (you will know when your little one is too low). Start with the back/shoulder straps super short and lengthen until comfortable point reached.
- Make sure your waist strap is comfortable (not too tight or lose). You should be able to fit a flat palm in between.
- As they grow- shift your little one to a preferred side while sitting - that way they sit up and "straddle" one of your legs. Great when he or she is too small for a high chair in a restaurant and you did not bring a stroller.
- Smile :) you look cool.

Are they serious?!? - Morro - Kutztown, PAI am an avid babywearer who has worn my daughter from when she was a five and a half pound preemie until the present age two. I have used slings, wraps, pouches, mei-tais, an Ergo, and I tried a Baby Bjorn for a few hours. This product is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen! Who would want to carry their poor baby dangling at their hip?!
Babywearing is supposed to be functional, yes, but it is also supposed to be intimate, cuddly, warm, nurturing and comforting for the baby. Especially in the first three months, the baby should be snuggled right up close with his or her arms and legs tucked in. Part of wearing your baby is also giving him the same visual reference as you - he is up there eye-to-eye with the rest of the world and can learn and interact. You want the baby's face to be as close to yours as possible, not stuck somewhere with his face in your navel.
If the baby's bottom is below the wearer's waist, the baby is not being worn correctly and the wearer's back and shoulders will soon tire. This goes for any type of carrier.
The Euro-Baby looks like the most ridiculous carrier I have ever seen. The only benefit I can see is ease of nursing, as the baby's face is right down there at the right level, but you don't want your baby positioned for nursing ALL the time.
The easiest and most versatile carriers, contrary to what the manufacturers of Baby Bjorn and Euro-baby type carriers want you to believe, are the simplest - no fancy straps, buckles, foam inserts, headrests, etc. A basic sling, or better yet, a pouch-style carrier (as from KangarooKorner.com - my favourite) has little to adjust or fuss with, and will easily transition with the same baby from birth through toddlerhood, which the "fancier" carriers will not do. (I have included a product link to a pouch style carrier that Amazon offers as well - although I have not used the Maya pouch so I cannot give an informed opionion, yet it looks great.)Maya Wrap Adjustable Pouch-BLUES W/PURPLE STRIPES
