My Little Seat Infant Travel High Chair Review

My Little Seat Infant Travel High Chair
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We were traveling overseas and needing a booster seat for feedings. Bringing a high chair wasn't an option, and schelping a portable booster seat would have been too cumbersome. If we had a car, it probably wouldn't have been a big deal to schlep that all over the city, but between the baby, diaper bag and stroller, that was more than enough to lug around.

I was VERY hesitant to get this at first. It seemed weird that a piece of cloth would support my just barely 6 month old to sit upright. I'm glad I'm wrong. We tested it before we left. AWESOME. It's small, folds to be about a 4-stack of size 2 diapers. Very portable. Folds easily into the little sack it comes in. We used this with restaurant's booster seats. If you travel with an infant, people WILL give you weird looks like, no way your baby can sit in a booster, and they'll give you a high chair instead (argh). If you use My Little Seat with a booster in an adult chair, it will give your baby table height view of what's going on. My baby loved it!! Just make sure that the "back" strap you use to secure to the chair - to tie it through the booster seat rails to secure the booster to the chair.

Cons: It gets wrinkly easily. Not made for a tall child. My son was 24" when we used this and the harness straps seemed kinda short and he'd outgrow it within a few months.

Lillebaby 5 Position Everywear Baby Carrier Review

Lillebaby 5 Position Everywear Baby Carrier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a first time mother and a compulsive experimenter of all "cool" and functional baby products, I have to admit that I am now on my forth infant/ toddler carrier.
I have been using the Lille baby carrier for a couple of months now and I have to admit that I love it.It has united the components that I liked from the other carriers and even added some upgrades.
Some features that work best for me are:
-The shoulder straps are narrow, allowing me put on a jacket over the carrier without the bulk.As a petit woman (5'3), the shoulder straps sit on my body, rather than slipping to the side.Once this carrier is on, it feels comfortable and never moves out of place.
- Her weight sits my hips, allowing me to takehour + long hikes with a 24 lb baby with ease.I have hiked with her on the front (front and back facing) and on my back. The different positions have been great for when my daughter gets fussy. As soon as we change up the position she relaxes.I have even had her on my side, allowing me to "carry" her without the weight on my arms.
- Lightweight but very durable. This is an easy carrier to use in the hot weather, and it is less bulky for packing. It fits under the stroller, in the diaper bag and even in a purse.

Overall, I am very satisfied and know that with the next child, I can stick with one carrier.

Disclaimer:As a professional baby planner, I received this carrier without being charged. My opinions are honest and true to my experience.I have already made recommendations for this carrier to friends.

Don't be disappointed the first time you try out your Maya wrap when your baby starts screaming and your back hurts. It takes a few tries to get it right, but once you do, it is a wonderful way to carry your baby. It is the only way I can get housework done when I'm home alone. I still haven't figured out how to keep the baby from getting all sweaty when she's in it, but I still love to use it.

Infantino Style Rider Extended Wear Baby Carrier Review

Due to my shape (fairly skinny with boobs) and my baby's size (3 months, 15 lbs) this just won't work. The straps in the front don't hold him close enough to my chest so he seems to lean out too far. I had my husband try it on to see if it was a torso length issue...but thought he would have the same problem. We are just going to suck it up and buy the Baby Bjorn as it seems to have a better ability to adjust to anyone's body type.

BABYBJ?RN Baby Carrier Active Review

BABYBJ?RN Baby Carrier Active
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was attracted to this carrier by all the rave reviews on Amazon.I like to hike, and live in a city where strollers are an inconvenience, so I thought I'd give this a try.I already have the original model, but this sounded so much better according to other reviewers. After using it for three weeks, my opinion is that this carrier is a slight improvement over the original when it comes to back support, but it's not a real carrier for truly active pursuits, and not worth the extra 90 bucks (or more) to buy it if you already have the original.

Problem 1

Although the lumbar support is a good idea in theory, I find that in order to get it to work, I have to tighten the attached straps to such an extent that my internal organs get squashed.I'm 5'9", 160 lbs, and I don't have a huge gut, but the lumbar just isn't tight enough against my back to provide support unless everything else in front is compressed to an uncomfortable degree, making it hard even to breathe sometimes.

Problem 2

An additional problem that I have found is that my child tends to sit considerably lower than in the original. He's 5 months old, and over 26 inches long, but unless I set the seat at the highest point (for children between 21-23.5 inches), he simply sits too low on my chest, and he still easily (and painfully) puts his little heels into my crotch on a far too-frequent basis.

Problem 3

The little flap at the front of the carrier, which can be folded down when the child is facing forward, constantly pops back up from the folded position to bop my kid in the face. There is no way to snap it or velcro it down, and the tensioner straps designed to aid in holding the child closer to your chest are insufficient to keep it lying flat once folded.

Problem 4

The shoulder straps are insufficiently padded, and as far as I can tell, have the same amount of padding as the original version. My kid is only 18 lbs, and after an hour or so, my shoulders sometimes get sore.I only wonder what hauling around a 25-pounder would be like.

Problem 5

The build quality on this carrier seems inferior to the original. On my second use, the red bracket that receives the red insert of the outer carrier partially tore free of the stitching, requiring me to take out dental floss and needle to stitch it back up.

Problem 6

Even when properly strapped in, I find that my son still bounces around and his back is too far from my chest for this carrier to be considered suitable for anything more "active" than a brisk walk.I have used it once to port him along for a mild hike, and felt that he simply wasn't sufficiently supported.I don't find this carrier's snugging system to be better in any way than the original.

Conclusion

Although this carrier is marginally easier on your back than the original, it is not adequate for more than extended brisk walks. If you don't have either carrier, it makes sense to get this one if you're particularly worried about your back or will be carrying a heavier child. If you're simply planning to carry your child around town for a few hours, the cheaper original model is sufficient.I am still waiting for a baby product company to offer a front-carry model for smaller children that incorporates backpack-style padded and contoured shoulder pads and a padded hip/lumbar belt capable of transferring weight from shoulders to hips.

Sleepy Wrap Baby Carrier Review

Sleepy Wrap Baby Carrier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I received the Sleepy Wrap as a baby shower gift, and it has proven itself to be a fantastic product. My son is currently 4 months old, and he is a frequent eater (breastfeeds every 1-2 hours) who takes very few daytime naps.He also wants to be held constantly and cries if laid down or left alone too long. The Sleepy Wrap is the only way I can get him to nap longer than 30 minutes during the day!He will often sleep for 2-3 hours in the wrap, waking for a snack and then back off to sleep.I'm a full-time student taking classes online, and I can study and surf the internet with baby wrapped against me!It's the only way I can get things done during the day.If you are a fan of Attachment Parenting, this product is perfect.

I also use the Wrap when going out and about.I simply put the wrap on at home, then transfer him into the wrap from the car seat and carry him with me in stores, at the mall, etc.He either looks around happily or sleeps peacefully.A much better alternative than carrying a carseat, lugging along a stroller, or finding a shopping cart to place the carseat into. The Wrap is extremely comfortable when standing or walking, and I have no problems with back or neck pain while carrying my son, who is currently 15 lbs.

My son was developing a flat spot on his head, and one of the ways I helped treat this was by keeping him in the Wrap. There is no external pressure on his head, so it's much better than laying him in a swing, bouncer or crib.

I can even breastfeed my son in the Wrap. The website says no repositioning is required, but I find that I do have to reposition my son, from side to side and sometimes further down my chest, in order to feed him.It is not a completely discreet way to feed, so I use my Jelly Bean nursing cover over it.

If you have a fussy or needy baby, I highly recommend getting this wrap.We also have a Baby Bjorn, which my husband often wears, and he prefers the Sleepy Wrap for both his and baby's comfort.

The only con of the Sleepy Wrap is that it takes practice to put it on just right, but after about a dozen times it becomes second nature. Also, as I mentioned above, I do have to reposition him to nurse, which often leaves the Wrap stretched and I have to re-wrap it in order to get the snug fit I desire.

Infantino Wrap and Tie Baby Carrier Review

Infantino Wrap and Tie Baby Carrier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this carrier when my daughter was about 4 weeks old; she's now 10 weeks old.I had a Moby that I borrowed from a friend but could never quite get to work, and my daughter hated being in it.I also have a Bjorn Active, but she seemed pretty precarious in that when she was so little.

This carrier is nearly perfect for infants. It's not quite as easy to put on as the Bjorn, but MUCH easier than the Moby, and it gives that nice snug fit that the Moby did. It's much lighter weight than the Bjorn, so it's easier on my back.I have the khaki-colored version, so I haven't had any problems with it showing dirt and dust.I wish the straps weren't so long (one size fits all), but I just wrap them around to my back and tie them again loosely.[I'm 5'4" and 145 lbs.]I think this carrier would fit most people. The fabric is thick, and the construction seems to be of good quality. It might be hot in hot weather, but most carriers are.

This has been a life saver. My daughter won't sleep anywhere except while being held. Now, once she's fed/diapered/etc and getting fussy (i.e., needs to sleep), I pop her in and walk around and sing. After a couple of minutes of fussing, she is sound asleep, sometimes for several hours.I can do a little light work around the house, plus I can sit and type at the computer (she's in the wrap right now).

*******Update 8/1/2010--my daughter is now almost 5 months old, and this carrier still works great with her facing me for her naps. She now weighs about 15 lbs, and it's not bad for a couple hours of use (especially if I can sit for part of the time). She starts to strain my back when I have to walk around with her for a couple of hours, but less so than when she is forward-facing in the Bjorn Active.

I have tried the face-out option, and it works OK, but I probable prefer to face her out in the Bjorn Active (it's quicker to put on).The Wrap and Tie is a little tall for her facing out, so I have to try to scrunch down the front, and I worry about her falling asleep and having her nose down in it.This carrier is definitely better than the Bjorn Active for facing-in naps (more support on the back of her neck so that her head doesn't flop around while she's sleeping).A friend is sending me her Ergo, so I will compare all three once I've tried it.

********Update 8/25/2010--Once I got the Ergo, I stopped using the Wrap and Tie.Both hold the baby snug and close to me, facing in, for sleeping. The Ergo is super easy to put on and great for my back.I am now an Ergo convert.

In summary---
1) Infantino Wrap and Tie:Pros = Great for little ones, facing in, for sleeping.Easier to put on than the Moby and yet keeps baby nice and snug. Can face baby out.Sturdy.Cheap (cheaper than other mei tai style carriers). Not bad on my back. Can ball it up and shove it in the diaper bag.Cons = harder to put on than Bjorn/Ergo, not as good as the Bjorn for facing out, not as good on the back as the Ergo.

2) Baby Bjorn (I have the Bjorn Active): Pros = My baby LOVES facing out when awake, and this is hands-down the best carrier for that.I put up with back pain to keep my baby happy.Cons: Not as good as the Wrap and Tie or Ergo for facing in/sleeping.Hurts my back to wear it for long (baby now ~15 lbs).Expensive.

3) Ergo: Pros = Quick and easy to put on, perfect for baby facing in/sleeping, cute little hood to put over her head to block out light while sleeping, AWESOME!!!! for my back.Cons = Expensive, baby can't face out.(My baby doesn't much like facing in while awake but she's getting used to it.)

When I go out, I usually take both the Ergo and the Bjorn with me in the car, and then pick whichever one is appropriate for my baby at the moment. If you have enough cash to drop on both (or better yet, can get them used or hand-me-down), get both and skip the Wrap and Tie.If you only have enough $ for one carrier, the Wrap and Tie might work.

*****final update--others have commented on the baby's face being smushed into their chest in the facing-in position.I haven't had a problem with this, but I frequently check my baby's neck position to make sure that her chin is tilted up a bit and her nose is pointing up a bit. It's easy to look down at her and reposition her head when appropriate. Also, I usually have her in with the binky in her mouth, which keeps her face off my chest as well.

Moby Wrap UV 50+ SPF Baby Carrier Review

Moby Wrap UV 50+ SPF Baby Carrier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I LOVE my Moby wrap! My daughter is 6 weeks old and she loves it as well. She cries whenever she is put down and will only fall asleep while being held. My husband & I disagree with the "cry it out" philosophy, so the Moby Wrap allows our daughter's needs to be met while we still have two free hands. There are several ways to tie the wrap ([...] has instructions) and, unlike some carriers, it will grow with the baby.Winter has come early in NY, yet I can still take her out for walks or shopping. If we're heading out in the car, I put the wrap on at home (don't want the long ends dragging on the ground as I try to put it on in a parking lot). When we arrive at our destination, in the warmth of the car, I slip her into the Moby wrap, pull the fabric up over her, and wrap my coat around her. She is protected from the cold as well as germs from those who want to stroke her cute little cheeks and hands!

Although I feel like I couldn't live without my Moby Wrap, there are a few drawbacks:
1) The fabric is a thick cotton -- great for keeping mom & baby warm in cooler temps, but seems too thick for summer. At home, I keep our thermostat lower when I'm wearing my daughter because it generates quite a bit of heat.
2) As with any baby carrier, it can be difficult to maintain good posture while wearing your baby. In someone prone to back pain, this may not be the best option.

That said, I feel the Moby Wrap is a must have for active moms! It's a great way to bond with your baby, maintain a sense of freedom (& sanity!:), and help a fussy baby be content.

Moby Wrap Moby D Baby Carrier Review

Moby Wrap Moby D Baby Carrier

We have two of these, one in a brocade and one in the hand-woven. The woven is definitely a bit more "grippy" through the panel, and it makes for some really nice carrying options, including back carries, which I would not do with most stretchy wraps. The brocade is a little slippery for back carries, but gorgeous on the front. This is a really nice hybrid between stretchy and woven carriers.

Product Description:
A wrap-around style baby carrier with the same great comfort as the original Moby Wrap, now with a destinctive look. The Moby D has a fabric panel in the center portion of the wrap that is made of either hand-woven cotton, Asian brocade silk, or fleece. While all fabric panels add aesthetically, the woven cotton and silk provide a piece of non-stretchy material to aid in supporting heavier babies and the fleece provides additional warmth. A few more differences to note are: the Moby D measures 5 meters in length, the Moby Wrap is 5.5 meters. The edges of the Moby D are hemmed, and the Moby Wrap's are over-locked. The Moby D's end knot is tied at the side, and the Moby Wrap's can be tied either in front or back.

BABYBJ?RN Baby Carrier Synergy Review

BABYBJ?RN Baby Carrier Synergy

My husband and I started out with the regular Bjorn, which hurt our backs after about 30 minutes. Then we tried the Bjorn Active, which made a huge improvement in terms of comfort, but we were unable to wear it in warm California weather because it was so big and bulky. Finally Bjorn figured it out - combine the Air and the Active -and you have the Synergy. I just wish it wasn't so ridiculously expensive ($150 for a mesh carrier mass produced in Latvia, c'mon!), I wish it came in other colors (navy, red, olive, like the Actives), and I wish Bjorn would finally develop waist support so the baby's weight wasn't carried so much on the parent's shoulders and back. But until then, this is a great carrier for newborns to 6 months old, especially if your young baby (like mine) resists slings and froggy-style carries in mei tais.

This carrier is wonderful! I had a BabyBjorn before but that gave me back pain after 4 months. Lite-on-Shoulder came to my rescue. Although it has a learning curve in the beginning I feel my baby is completely secure in it. I started using it when my baby was about 4 months old and it never fails that she falls asleep in it. She is now 22 lbs and still loves the snuggle comfort of it. it allows me to adjust the height precisly that I can let her straddle on my hip to even part of her weight onto my hip and alleviate the shoulder load. The pouch shape design add double security to it.

BABYBJ?RN Baby Carrier Air Review

BABYBJ?RN Baby Carrier Air
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Over the course of three children we have had FIVE carriers: Two slings, a Baby Bjorn, a Snugli and the Ergo Baby.

The Bjorn is definitely the best looking and easiest to use. The clips and connectors are very intuitive and it's easy to get smaller infants into it.

The "Air" version is identical to the "Original" but with much more breathable fabric.Unfortunately this doesn't address the biggest shortcoming of the carrier.

My big complaint is that when the kids get larger (or if you wear it for more than ~10 minutes at a time) it really starts to kill your back. This is because the design keeps all the weight on your shoulders. It's like wearing a backpack BACKWARDS!

The "Active" and "Synergy" versions have wider straps with a center buckle and a lower strap "lumbar" strap which provides additional support over the "Original" While this distributes the weight better, it doesn't put it on your hips.Oh, and it also makes it a lot more fiddly to put on.

If you backpack, you know what I'm talking about.A lightweight pack is fine for lugging 10 lbs of books to class, but if you want to be able to hike for an hour with 25+ lbs you have to shift the weight to your hips.

If you only plan to use this when grocery shopping and think you'll give it up when they're 6 months old, this might be for you. If you think you might want to go to the park and hang out, or use it even when the kid starts to crawl, then the Ergo Baby is probably more your speed. My wife can take our 25 lb 1 year old for 20 minute walks around the neighborhood in the Ergo Baby Carrier.

p.s. this is coming from a guy who is 6', 180# and fit. My wife is smaller and far more critical of the ergonomics of this carrier.

If you've found this review helpful, please let me know!

I have a Moby wrap, but I hate having so much fabric wrapped around my body, so I was very excited to find a "wrapless" version.I liked this product in theory, but I am 5 ft tall, 105 lbs, and this baby carrier in size S/M was way too big.The fabric stretches so when I put my baby in it, it would sag and there wasn't enough support to hold her.In fact, it seemed quite dangerous.I imagine it's great if you are a bigger mom, but it definitely did not work on my small frame!

The Bjorn is definitely the best looking and easiest to use. The clips and connectors are very intuitive and it's easy to get smaller infants into it.

My big complaint is that when the kids get larger (or if you wear it for more than 20 minutes at a time) it really starts to kill your back. This is because the design keeps all the weight on your shoulders. It's like wearing a backpack BACKWARDS!

The "Active" version has wider straps which provide additional support for a small improvement over the "Original," but it still puts all the weight on your shoulders, pulling them forward.

If you only plan to use this when grocery shopping and think you'll give it up when they're 6 months old, this might be for you. If you think you might want to go to the park and hang out, or use it even when the kid starts to crawl, then the Ergo Baby is probably more your speed.

p.s. this is coming from a guy who is 6', 180# and fit. My wife is smaller and far more critical of the ergonomics of this carrier.

I loved this tub i searched all over for a pink pooh tub...my daughter loves it the sling is great for small babies and the toys for washing hair!!! The only thing bad was it came dirty like it had been in a warehouse and had a little chip out of the foam part...but other than that great tub love it!!!
