(More customer reviews)The hotsling is much simpler than the slings that have the buckle; therefore, it makes it much easier to become accustomed to and travel with.Although I do like it, I don't love it for summer because the material is a little thick; my baby gets too hot in it, and so do I.Also, because the baby's legs have to be scrunched up in it (right now she is only 2 months old), I like to put her in the Baby Bjorn so that her legs can be free.It's a good product as far as slings go, and I would recommend this sling over the others (i have a few slings AND a Baby Bjorn!).

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my newborn daughter who is tiny and petite.I put it on and I couldn't get even her legs in it.Its not that well made nor is it soft.I ordered the correct size (I'm 5'3" and a size 4) but I just think its a poor design.Look closely at the sellers return policy too.I had to jump through too many hoops to get it returned and shipping was double that on their own external website.

Peanut Shell Microfleece Sling - Squirt Review

(More customer reviews)I have two Peanut Shell slings -- one regular cotton and one microfleece. They're beautifully made and seem like a great concept, although my son isn't a huge fan of them. He's big for his age (two months) and complains all the time he's in there, despite being properly adjusted.

One cautionary note about the microfleece sling -- the sizing. According to the Peanut Shell charts I need a Medium sling, and indeed in the *regular cotton* sling, the Medium is a perfect size for me. However, the microfleece sling stretches tremendously once the baby is in it, making the sling *too large*. Suddenly it hangs way down, so that my legs bump it when I walk! Not the intended effect!

So if you're ordering the Peanut Shell in microfleece, I'd suggest choosing one size SMALLER than your recommended size. Otherwise you'll end up, like me, with a sling you can't use...

(More customer reviews)What would I do without my Hotsling?My 9 week old baby has loved the closeness of being in the sling from the very beginning.When she fusses, this is the only sure way to get her calm and sleeping.With her cuddled up close to me in the sling, I can get work done around the house, go shopping or take a walk.My baby isn't comfortable in the Baby Bjorn yet, so the sling is an absolute lifesaver.

There are a couple drawbacks of this sling:
1. It is not comfortable to wear for long periods of time.After an hour or so, my back is starting to hurt.
2.It is not adjustable, so my husband can't use it, and it was a little tight in the winter when we were wearing big coats and wrapping the baby in blankets.I recommend ordering a size larger than you think you need - I am 5'2"/120 lbs and the size 3 is just right.

Next time, I might try an adjustable sling so that my husband and I can both use it.

The organic material is so stretchy, my baby falls right to sleep when I put her into it because it's just like being back in the womb! I don't know what I would do with out this being a mother of 4 very active children. I use it so frequently that I have decided to order a second one just so I am never without one again. Customer service was also excellent and I was able to talk personally via e-mail with Carrie, the co-founder of Hugamonkey, who helped me determine that I had ordered a size too big.

One word of advice though would be to order a smaller size than you think you need with the organic sling due to the stretchiness of the material,especially if you are a short mommy, but if you do wind up with a size problem, all returns and exchanges are free within the first 30 days through the HugaMonkey website!

These slings are also nothing like the ones you see being sold at Wal-mart that act more like a purse than a sling. I had one of those purse like carriers and my baby really could not breath inside of it. We returned it immediately! These slings are sooomuch better and safer and once your baby gets bigger, you can use it to let her sit in on your hip rather than cradled in front.

Soooo many different uses, really simple design, and very cheap price!

Sleepy Wrap Baby Carrier Review

(More customer reviews)I received the Sleepy Wrap as a baby shower gift, and it has proven itself to be a fantastic product.My son is currently 4 months old, and he is a frequent eater (breastfeeds every 1-2 hours) who takes very few daytime naps.He also wants to be held constantly and cries if laid down or left alone too long.The Sleepy Wrap is the only way I can get him to nap longer than 30 minutes during the day!He will often sleep for 2-3 hours in the wrap, waking for a snack and then back off to sleep.I'm a full-time student taking classes online, and I can study and surf the internet with baby wrapped against me!It's the only way I can get things done during the day.If you are a fan of Attachment Parenting, this product is perfect.

I also use the Wrap when going out and about.I simply put the wrap on at home, then transfer him into the wrap from the car seat and carry him with me in stores, at the mall, etc.He either looks around happily or sleeps peacefully.A much better alternative than carrying a carseat, lugging along a stroller, or finding a shopping cart to place the carseat into.The Wrap is extremely comfortable when standing or walking, and I have no problems with back or neck pain while carrying my son, who is currently 15 lbs.

My son was developing a flat spot on his head, and one of the ways I helped treat this was by keeping him in the Wrap.There is no external pressure on his head, so it's much better than laying him in a swing, bouncer or crib.

I can even breastfeed my son in the Wrap.The website says no repositioning is required, but I find that I do have to reposition my son, from side to side and sometimes further down my chest, in order to feed him.It is not a completely discreet way to feed, so I use my Jelly Bean nursing cover over it.

If you have a fussy or needy baby, I highly recommend getting this wrap.We also have a Baby Bjorn, which my husband often wears, and he prefers the Sleepy Wrap for both his and baby's comfort.

The only con of the Sleepy Wrap is that it takes practice to put it on just right, but after about a dozen times it becomes second nature.Also, as I mentioned above, I do have to reposition him to nurse, which often leaves the Wrap stretched and I have to re-wrap it in order to get the snug fit I desire.

(More customer reviews)I have a Moby wrap, but I hate having so much fabric wrapped around my body, so I was very excited to find a "wrapless" version.I liked this product in theory, but I am 5 ft tall, 105 lbs, and this baby carrier in size S/M was way too big.The fabric stretches so when I put my baby in it, it would sag and there wasn't enough support to hold her.In fact, it seemed quite dangerous.I imagine it's great if you are a bigger mom, but it definitely did not work on my small frame!

HugaMonkey Black Baby Sling Review

I like that it's small enough to jam into the diaper bag or purse, easy and uncomplicated to throw on, easy to wash (even goes in the dryer) and most importantly, my baby likes it. Not sure what the other reviewer is complaining about with the sizing. I'm on the upper end of the size small range and the size small fits great. My 9 month old LOVES being in a hip carry in this sling.

It isn't what I'd pick for a hike or a full day carry, but it's a great help for an hour or two of shopping, lulling her to sleep around the house or a quick walk around the block.

Maya Wrap Lightly Padded Sling MEDIUM Review

(More customer reviews)I have numerous baby carriers, and each has its different uses, but the one I love for around the house and short trips is my Maya Wrap ring sling. (I have the Bright Stripes pattern, which is gorgeous!)

It's easy to stuff in a diaper bag. You can quickly pop your baby in and out of it. You can put it on under a coat and put your little one in it without having to take your entire coat off. (A HUGE bonus in wintertime!) The tail is great for providing privacy while nursing. The Guatemalan woven fabric is both lovely and supportive while remaining fairly breathable. It's also very washable, which is great. We've had diaper blowouts and spit-up on our sling, and it still looks like brand-new. (Those silk slings look sooo lovely, but I would be scared to death to put a real live baby in one! Don't the makers of those things know the sort of substances babies exude?)

Bonus: The Maya Wrap comes with a great DVD that I found extremely helpful.

That said, a ring sling isn't perfect for every circumstance. For very long trips or older children, I prefer a more structured carrier, like the Ergo Baby Carrier Black with Camel Lining. Some moms who don't care for the one-shouldered support of the Maya Wrap may prefer the Moby Wrap Baby Carrier-12 Colors with 2 New Limited Colors!!. But while I love both those carriers, if I had to choose just one, I would pick a Maya Wrap, hands down!

(More customer reviews)I bought this to use for carting around my 6 month old since she is getting bigger.I found it to be a little frustrating to adjust the material.When my daughter was sitting in the carrier I think her legs were cramped because she would not tolerate it for to long.The hip position is nice, but really is not all that different than just carting her around on my hip.You have only a little more freedom of your hands.

The padded portion is nice and fairly comfortable.I just felt like I needed to keep readjusting the sling.

This may be a great product for smaller babies.I just found the price for what I was using it for did not seem justified.I actually returned the product.

(More customer reviews)I used this sling from the time my son was 6 weeks (he's 7 months now and I can still use it).

Things I like about it: 1) It is not padded, so it does not feel bulky. 2) It is adjustable, so you can get the baby in a nice, secure fit. 3) It is very quick and easy to get the baby in. 4) I ordered "avocado", and it is a fun, stylish look. 4) I like the zippered pocket on the sash- very convenient for keys, phone, money and pacifier, etc... 5) I really liked that it was deep enough that the baby could slide into a straight-up-and-down position, with his face out, even when he was very young. This seems like a much safer fit that the cradle position.6) The sling is made in Houston! What I do not like: 1) Personally, I do not like having a sash. I understand it is there to get a good fit, but I don't like the excess material. 2) I don't like the rings. Sometimes the sling would get twisted. If the sling is not placed low enough, the rings are uncomfortable on the my collarbone. (The sling does come with a very helpful DVD). 3) It is expensive.

All in all, I think it is a very good product and I would recommend it to a friend..

(More customer reviews)I wanted a sling in which I could be breastfeeding discretely; sling which would be comfy for me & for my baby;which would match pretty much of everything I would wear; which is not bulky ( that will fit in my diaper bag) --- and everything I was looking for, I got in this sling: pretty print (I've got lots of compliments from people because of that print); east to nurse the baby in it & do my house chores, shop all at once! It doesn't hurt my back even after a long period of time wearing my baby. I got sling in size L, even though I needed size M : I like the longertail of the sling- it's like an accessory to my outfit. The video instructions are wonderful - they are the key to successful baby wearing : Watch them couple of times before you wearyour sling - that will be easier for you and for your baby
My baby loves being in it - it instantly settles her down if she is overstimulated by surroundings. if she can't fall asleep, I put her in the sling, walk with her in the sling for 5-10 min - and she is hardly asleep ; it is easy to take sling off with the sleeping baby in it - just a little bit of practice!
I find that easier to use sling rather then usestroller: she sleeps better in the sling then in the stroller;both of your hand are free!!!
