(More customer reviews)This is a great idea but with several problems. We bought the tub for our newborn and he loved it. However, now he is 10 weeks old, the tub is too small (our baby isn't very big).

The folding mechanism is problematic on 2 counts:

1. The baby can (and ours did) get fingers and/ or toes caught where the tub folds. This is scary for both the baby and parent and is potentially very dangerous. Thankfully our baby wasn't hurt, just frightened.

2. Because of the way it folds, the tub can hold only a little water without it spilling out all over the floor. I don't mind this too much, but it does make bath time very messy and with a new baby, no-one needs anything extra to clean up.

Because of the safety & size issues, we are searching for another tub and are disappointed that we wasted time and money on this one. Although it saves space, I would in future, buy an inflatable tub (which can also be used as a sled, apparently). PLEASE take extra care with your little one's fingers and toes if you buy this tub, but do think very carefully about other alternatives.

(More customer reviews)i looked around at reviews before putting this on my registry and i am so glad that i did. this is the easiest way i can think of to bathe a baby, so much better than bulky plastic tubs. you just use it in a low level of water in the family bathtub. the material is breathable and soft, but don't be fooled because it dries out easily and quickly too. it only takes about 15 minutes to go from saturated to completely dry. this product laughs in the face of mildew. i especially like the loop that makes it easy to hang up for drying or out-of-the-way storage. you don't have to sacrifice comfort for function.

if you are looking for possible negative aspects, the pillow floats a bit if you fill the tub very full. it isn't really a problem , but maybe worth mentioning if you fear your baby may float away to the other end of the bathtub. the metal rod on the back has come off, but it is really so simple to reposition that i wouldn't call that a "con" either. it hasn't ever come off when my baby was on it... just when i was prepping the bath area.

We especially love the freedom that this tub offers.The unique molding cradles the baby safely, while allowing both of your hands free to bathe.I had tried other tubs which were so much more difficult to manage.One arm was always tied up with supporting the baby- very tiring as she sqirmed vigorously.Also, I am amazed at the ingenious design.No matter how our daughter splashes, she stays firmly, safely reclined.The deeper section allows her the freedom to kick and truly enjoy the water.At first, I had teased my husband for picking out the largest and most expensive tub.He thought that it looked like a little baby spa.And I thought where are we going to store it?But this is only a minor drawback.The advantages far outweigh any difficulty of size.Actually, we will be able to use the tub longer since our daughter won't outgrow it for quite some time.We think that it makes a great, indepensible gift for any parent.A definite must for any Water Baby!

The First Years Sure Comfort Newborn to Toddler Tub Review

(More customer reviews)For newborns- the tub is great using the mesh net.But they're not infants for long.I think I got about 4 months out of it.

For infants (about 4 mos and up), it's pretty good for the most part.My complaint is this:my 7 mo old who is quite chunky keeps sliding down in it.Her [...] won't stay in the grooved part where they're supposed to keep it.She twists and turns and it gets slippery and she starts to slide down.Consequently, I have to keep one hand holding her crotch area to prevent her from slipping under the water.This doesn't make for easy washing w/ only one hand left to use.For that reason, I don't think it's the best.

EDITED:
I've owned this tub for 3 1/2 years.Used it with my first son and then with my daughter.It wasn't until about 4-5 mos after daughter's birth that I realized that I could sit my child straight up on the "toddler" side and then I don't have the slipping problem!Ugh.So much for my fancy college and graduate degrees!

(More customer reviews)Save yourself the time and energy looking for a baby bath tub and head straight for this one.I'm so happy with this tub that I find myself making more time for bath time with my baby!First of all, it's just so darn cute.But seriously, here are my top reasons for loving this tub:

1) For the infant stage, no sling to mess with.Although a sling sounds nice and hammocky, you won't miss it.Sling issues from my experience include sagging, baby suspended over the nice warm water, not actually in it!Hard bumps for baby's tender back or bottom.None of those issues here!

Instead of the sling, it's much simpler...baby's back rests against the soft, oval padding you see in the picture.Baby is kept from sliding down into the tub by a removable ledge, which leaves more of baby actually comfortable and IN the water with legs free to move and kick, which makes bath time more fun and enjoyable!By the way, it will take a little muscle power (not a bad thing) to remove the ledge when baby can sit up.

2) For the 6+ months stage or when baby is sitting up, remove the ledge you have a basin large enough for baby to sit comfortably and play without knees knocking against the edges, yet it's not so large that it takes up too much space or baby feels insecure.I also like the depth.It can be filled with enough water without having to be filled to the brim.

3) It comes with a perfect little accessory: a baby whale strainer that is (a) cute, (b) functional, (c) fun toy.First of all, this baby whale is just adorable.Secondly, it's very useful during the infant stage, especially if you're not using the kitchen sink sprayer.Simply scoop up water and allow it to flow through the strain holes to rinse baby or tickle baby.Lastly, when baby starts grabbing, it becomes FUN for him or her.Curiosity, cause and effect, those lightbulb moment looks.Just priceless, and again it's so simple.

4) It fits in the kitchen sink perfectly.It also works on the counter top since it has non-skid type material underneath -still use common sense and stay beside baby & tub.It fitsin the bath tub as well.So, where ever you want to use it, the tub should work.

5) Price - this tub is the best value AND quality I've found.Many other tubs cost more, but they have features that don't live up to expectations.

The First Year's Infant To Toddler Tub with Sling Review

(More customer reviews)A friend of mine suggested this tub because of the "hammock feature." Your baby is cradled in a "hammock" that attaches to the tub, making it super easy to bathe your newborn. The pads in the tub are soft and they are mold-resistant. It fits in any sink you put it in, single or double, and it will save your back, not having to bend over your own bathtub. I also like how it has a built in bath caddy to put baby's shampoo/soap/toys/washcloths whatever. My only two complaints are that the plug DOES NOT change color when water is too hot. When we used those little floating rubber ducks that have the word HOT on the bottom that turn white when the water is too hot, the plug didn't turn white. One day I filled it with scalding hot water (without my baby in it, of course) to see if it would change color and it didn't. I guess it doesn't matter anyway since you should ALWAYS check the water temp before putting your little one in it, but I thought it would have been a cool feature had it actually worked. My other complaint is that is is bulky and big and if you live in a little house like we do there is no room for it. However, I would still not recommend any other tub but this one.
